EDUCATION CONSULTANCY · HONG KONG
Learning, understood
One-to-one tutoring and learning guidance for Hong Kong families who want someone to really understand how their child learns.
For children on IB and international tracks, and for children who learn differently.
THE APPROACH
Every child learns differently.
01
Understand First.
The first sessions are about how your child thinks: what holds their attention, where they get stuck, what they already do well. The syllabus comes after.
02
One person, every time.
Your child works with me, not a rota of tutors. Trust builds faster, and nothing gets lost between sessions.
03
Built around them.
Pace, materials and structure are shaped to the child. For children who learn differently, that often means calm, routine and fewer surprises.
WHAT I OFFER
Four ways I can help.
One-to-one tutoring
IB (including PYP), international school curricula, local primary and HKDSE. Weekly sessions in your home, planned around how your child learns.
For children who learn differently
Patient, structured support for neurodivergent learners that works with their strengths, alongside any professionals already involved.
Learning coaching
Study habits, organisation and independence, for children who can do the work but find it hard to start, plan or finish it.
Admissions guidance
Understanding your school options, preparing applications, and getting ready for interviews and assessments.
HOW IT WORKS
Starting is simple.
1
A Conversation
A short call by phone or video. You tell me about your child, and I tell you honestly whether I can help.
2
A First Session
I meet your child at home, see how they work, and share what I noticed with you afterwards.
3
A Plan
If we go ahead, you get a short written plan: goals, schedule, and how we will both know it is working.
ABOUT
Hello, I’m Lydia.
I am a consultant with extensive experience working with a small number of families at a time, so every child gets my full attention.
I trained as a lawyer and spent three years in litigation, where I also trained and supervised junior colleagues. It taught me to listen carefully and explain things clearly, which turns out to be most of teaching.

QUESTIONS
What parents usually ask.
-
IB (including PYP), international school curricula, local primary and HKDSE.
-
In your home, in most academic areas. Online sessions are coming soon.
-
No. I work with children with and without a diagnosis. I'm not a therapist or educational psychologist, and I'm glad to work alongside the professionals already supporting your child.
-
Tutoring is charged by the hour, while coaching and admissions guidance are offered as packages. I'll give you a clear quote after our first conversation.
-
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. What I can promise is careful preparation and an honest view of where your child will thrive.
